A question tag is a short question added to the end of a sentence, used to confirm information or check agreement: You're tired, aren't you?

  • A question tag is a short question added to the end of a sentence, used to confirm information or check agreement: You're tired, aren't you?
  • If the main sentence is positive, the tag is negative; if the main sentence is negative, the tag is positive.
  • The tag repeats the auxiliary verb of the main sentence, or uses do/does/did if there isn't one: She likes coffee, doesn't she?
